Embrach Cricket Academy Hosts Integration Event with TransRe
Tuesday, 25 August 2026
Embrach Cricket Academy recently hosted a special integration event in partnership with TransRe, a leading international reinsurance company, bringing together academy participants, refugees supported by AOZ, and employees from TransRe for a memorable day of sport, learning and cultural exchange.
The initiative aimed to connect people from different backgrounds, professions and life experiences, creating opportunities to interact, share stories and build meaningful relationships through cricket and open dialogue.
A total of 40 participants took part in the event, including 16 employees from TransRe and 24 participants from Embrach Cricket Academy and AOZ.
The day began with an introduction to cricket, followed by practical coaching sessions at four activity stations focusing on batting, bowling, fielding and game skills. Participants were divided into mixed groups, encouraging teamwork, communication and interaction throughout the morning. Smiles, laughter and a spirit of togetherness quickly helped break down barriers and create new connections.
Following the morning activities, participants enjoyed a delicious lunch, including traditional dishes prepared by refugees. Refreshments and snacks were available throughout the day, helping maintain energy and creating a relaxed atmosphere for informal conversations.
The afternoon focused on meaningful exchanges between TransRe employees and academy participants. Small group discussions covered topics such as education, career pathways, professional development and life experiences. Participants received valuable advice, encouragement and insights from professionals working in different fields. These discussions, held in German and Swiss German, provided a unique opportunity for learning, inspiration and mutual understanding.
The day concluded with friendly mixed-team cricket matches, bringing together participants who had trained together during the morning sessions. The winning team was presented with trophies, but the true success of the event lay in the friendships formed, the experiences shared and the joy created throughout the day.

Events such as these demonstrate the power of sport to bring communities together, foster understanding and create opportunities for inclusion. Embrach Cricket Academy would like to thank TransRe, AOZ, volunteers, coaches and all participants for making this event such a wonderful success.
